Introduction

  • Dottie Lo Bue is an up-and-coming artist, whose thought-provoking artwork is quickly gaining attention. Currently pursuing an MFA in Fine Arts at California College of the Arts, Dottie is already an accomplished artist with a BFA in Pictorial Art from San Jose State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
  • Dottie’s artwork explores a wide range of themes and emotions, including identity, memory, and loss. Her unique style and ability to capture the essence of the human experience through her artwork have garnered much attention and admiration from both art lovers and critics alike. With a promising future ahead of her, Dottie is an artist to watch in the coming years. We are proud to have her as part of the Art Ignition team.

Experience

Dottie has exhibited her artwork at numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout California. Her work has been showcased at esteemed venues such as the Axis Gallery in Sacramento, the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, and the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, among others. Notably, she was awarded the Best of Show Award at the Stockton Art League 61st National Juried Exhibition at the Haggin Museum in Stockton, CA.

Dottie is also a published artist and has been featured in various publications, including Marías at Sampaguitas Magazine, Penumbra Literary and Art Journal, Reed Magazine, and That Gray Zine. She has won numerous scholarships and awards, including the California College of the Arts Fine Arts Merit Scholarship, the California College of the Arts Diversity Scholarship, and the California College of the Arts Graduate Chair Award.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Dottie has taught as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Painting and Sculpture departments at CSU Stanislaus. She has also been a Guest Lecturer for Poetry and Creative Writing Workshop at CSU Stanislaus.

Education

Dotti is currently undertaking an MFA in Fine Arts at the California College of the Arts. She has a BFA in Pictorial Art from San Jose State University and completed CSU Summer Arts at CSU Monterey Bay.
