Why Did We Build This Website?
Art Ignition was created from the need for real, actionable advice based on first-hand, real-world experience that would truly impact artist’s creative endeavours in a concrete way: helping them improve their art and make more money.
This is done through sharing helpful tips, quality info, and valuable resources for artists of all skill levels.
And we want to create that with a group of awesome people!
Working with other experienced and successful artists, we will give you simplified and actionable advice to advance your art.
However, the main person we want to talk to is you. We want to know what you are dealing with. we might not have all the answers, but we’re determined to find those who do and get the information from them.

Nathan Hughes is an accomplished artist driven by a lifelong passion for creativity. With over 10 years of experience in drawing, digital art, and watercolor painting, Nathan aims to create art that sparks joy and leaves a lasting impression.
As a self-taught artist, he understands the challenges and intimidation of pursuing art. Nathan believes that creativity is accessible to everyone and, through Art Ignition, strives to provide information and support to help others improve their skills, flourish professionally, and have a ton of fun along the way.
His diverse educational background and commitment to lifelong learning fuel his artistic growth and inspire others on their creative journeys.
Bart Dluhy
Professional Artist, Writer, and Teacher
Bart Dluhy is a multifaceted artist, writer, and teacher. With a lifelong passion for art, he began selling his oil paintings in 2000, showcasing his work in juried and solo exhibitions.
Bart holds an MFA in Fine Arts, an M.Ed. in Education, and dual BFA in Studio Art and Art Education. As an art and film instructor, he nurtures creativity and critical thinking skills in his students.
Bart has had quite an adventure over the years, working as an executive chef and horticulturist/landscape designer. Blending his passion for creativity and education, he now inspires others through his artwork, writing, and teaching.
Dottie Lo Bue
Professional Artist and Writer
Dottie Lo Bue is an accomplished artist and writer pursuing an MFA in Fine Arts at the California College of the Arts. With a BFA in Pictorial Art from San Jose State University, she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Dottie’s thought-provoking artwork explores themes of identity, memory, and loss, capturing the essence of the human experience.
Her work has been exhibited in prestigious venues, including the Bedford Gallery and the Triton Museum of Art. As a published artist, she has been featured in various publications such as Marías at Sampaguitas Magazine and Penumbra Literary and Art Journal.

Grace Highness

Grace Highness is a passionate artist with a lifelong love for painting, drawing, and sculpting. She embarked on her professional creative journey in 2020 when she founded her painting business, Ain’t a Better Way to Paint, in North Carolina. Since then, Grace has traveled the United States, teaching beginner painting classes and bringing joy through her artistic medium.
With over 5 years of experience in oil painting and a diverse skill set in acrylics and watercolors, she specializes in capturing landscapes and creating captivating portraits.
Though self-guided in her artistic pursuits, Grace’s enthusiasm and commitment have allowed her to excel and inspire others to explore their creativity.
Seema Misra
Watercolor Artist and Writer
Seema Misra is a self-taught writer and illustrator with over a decade of experience in ink and watercolor. As an urban sketch addict, she always carries a watercolor kit, capturing moments and stories in her sketches.
Seema’s mission is to inspire and empower others to embrace their creativity. Through valuable insights, tips, and a shared passion for art, she encourages the exploration of techniques, materials and breaking boundaries.
With a fusion of watercolor, ink, and digital media, Seema’s vibrant art brings cities and travel experiences to life. Her work has been featured in publications, including illustrated children’s books and botanical and food illustrations. Educationally, Seema is a self-taught artist with over a decade of experience in ink and watercolor.
Ashe Samuels

Ashe Samuels is a seasoned writer and digital illustrator. Her portfolio includes book covers for esteemed authors and being featured as Artist Guest of Honor at Arisia.
She brings whimsical fantasy subjects to life in a painterly realism style. Her art explores themes of dreaming, identity, and vulnerability, drawing inspiration from Studio Ghibli and classical art movements.
Combining self-taught experimentation with mentorships and figure drawing courses, Ashe continues to create captivating illustrations. She is pursuing a business degree and aims to self-publish and crowdfund independent works.
